acondas publishes first sustainability report
acondas has taken another step towards becoming a more sustainable consulting firm: we have published our first acondas Sustainability Report which is also our first Communication on Progress (Advanced Level) for the UN Global Compact. The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest and most important initiative for responsible corporate governance. Based on ten universal principles and the seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals, it pursues a vision of an inclusive and sustainable global economy for the benefit of all people, communities, and markets, today and in future. acondas joined the UN Global Compact in the summer of 2019.
The 25-page sustainability report summarizes our initiatives and measures in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment as well as anti-corruption and data privacy. It also outlines sustainability goals for 2021 and defined KPIs for tracking. These goals include, for example, intensifying the use of personal training budgets, reducing CO2 emissions, and many others. In a separate chapter, we discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our firm and outline the measures we have taken to ensure the health safety of our employees and the clients we engage with.
Our sustainability strategy rests on two pillars: On the one hand it shows our own contribution as a consulting firm to the Sustainable Development Goals, e.g., by reducing our CO2 footprint or by introducing new ways of working. On the other hand, it describes our even stronger contribution in our role as experts in helping our clients implement strategies related to sustainability issues, e.g., the growth of renewable energy, closing coal-fired and nuclear power plants, e-mobility, or a circular economy.
We reconfirm our commitment to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and support them in our daily work and in our spheres of influence.
