Hamburg – There is really nothing standing in the way of viewing the Hanseatic city as the perfect place to live and work. It’s not without reason that people in Hamburg are very happy, in fact, according to a survey, even happier than the inhabitants of London, Rome or Paris.
The Alster provides a lake (well, actually a river) in the middle of the city where you can sail or float around in a rubber boat. When summer is just around the corner, an afternoon on the Elbe beach quickly conjures up the holiday mood. At any time of the day you can watch giant container ships at the harbour and relax at end of the day in one of the many beach clubs. Whether it’s the nightlife in Sankt Pauli, the alternative scene on the Schanze, the modern architecture in Hafencity or old trading warehouses in Speicherstadt – this city cannot be described in one sentence.
It’s no wonder, then, that Hamburg became acondas’ second office location in 2011, after Düsseldorf. With ten consultants working there, it is currently the second largest office. Since this summer, we have been working in the modern and open spaces at our new location in Winterhude. This district in the heart of Hamburg is known for its proximity to the water and the Hamburg City Park. The street Mühlenkamp is lined with nice quaint cafés and restaurants, which makes it difficult to decide where to spend your lunch break every day. Every Friday, on the so-called “Lecker-Freitag”, a colleague brings a cake to share. During the breaks or after work, there are often duels at the game console or at the ping-pong table. Several times a year we also strengthen our team spirit at our office events on the volleyball field, in the boulder hall, in an escape room or in one of our favorite bars. During the annual cabbage tour in spring, we traditionally hike for a day through northern Lower Saxony and wind down the evening at a colleague’s house.
